The start of 2026 has seen noteworthy executive appointments that reflect both continued investment in sustainability and strategic expansion across regions and sectors:

  • HSBC appointed Chaoni Huang as Managing Director and Head of Sustainable Finance and Transition for Asia. The appointment follows HSBC's recent launch of its Net Zero Transition Plan, which supports customers in transitioning to net zero and reaffirms the bank's target to reach net zero in financed emissions, operations, and supply chain by 2050.

  • Impax Asset Management appointed former HSBC UK CEO Stuart White as Executive Director, Business Development. According to the firms website, Stuart will coordinate the implementation of Impax’s strategy and business development, initiate and manage client partnerships, and lead the ongoing evolution of the company’s systematic equities commercial strategy.

  • Ørsted have appointed Anders Johannes Enghild as Head of Global Sustainability and will be responsible for leading a team of climate, nature, and community impact specialists to strengthen the integration of sustainability across the company’s renewable energy projects.

These senior moves early in the year reflect a cross-sector commitment to sustainability strategy and leadership depth-especially in roles tied to finance, transition planning and global impact.
